MACKENNA BONNER

BALLET TECHNIQUE + POINTE

MacKenna Bonner, originally from Baltimore, Maryland, began her formal ballet training at the Dance Conservatory of Maryland. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ballet from the University of Utah in 2026, along with a Minor in Strategic Communication and certificates in Entrepreneurship and Studio Teaching. She is currently a trainee with Ballet Theatre of Maryland.

In addition to her performing career, MacKenna is passionate about dance education. Throughout her time teaching at various dance studios, she has enjoyed helping dancers build strong technical foundations, develop artistry, and gain confidence in the studio.

While at the University of Utah, MacKenna served as President of the Character Dance Ensemble, through which she performed and trained internationally in Germany, Costa Rica, Japan, and the United Kingdom. Her performance experience includes a wide range of classical and contemporary works, including Coppélia restaged by Emma Capen, Bruce Caldwell, and Tauna Hunter; The Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, and The Nutcracker restaged by Barclay Gibbs; and original contemporary works such as Becoming by Sayoko Knode, Bring It on Home by Luc Vanier, and Where Edges Blur by Kara Robertson.

MacKenna is passionate about sharing her love of ballet with the next generation of dancers. As both a professional performer and educator, she is committed to inspiring students through positive mentorship, quality instruction, and a lifelong appreciation for the art of dance.
